The CCA and key cultural figures reflect on the legacy of Amancio Williams, both for Argentina and for an international audience. Giovanna Borasi is joined by architects, professors, journalists and editors to comment on his legacy through a public reading of personal letters addressed to Amancio Williams.

The reading of these letters is followed by a conversation among the guest speakers moderated by editors in the field of architecture.

About

Trained as an architect, he also exercises as a designer, professor and curator. He received his degree from the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism at the University of Buenos Aires in 2006, and then continued his studies through graduate courses in Buenos Aires and the United States. Upon returning, by mid-2008 he opened Normal™, determining his interest in experimentation and research projects applied to architecture, design and cultural management. In 2012 he opens Monoambiente the first non profit gallery in Southamerica specialized in experimental architecture and design.

Multidisciplinary architecture and design office founded in 2008 by architect Martin Huberman.
“At Normal™ research is at the base of all of our projects. We seek to get away from common ground while we try to redefine the notion of space, matter through our own systems and languages.
With time we developed our own way of Doing, based in trial and error, in common sense, design through simple gestures part of a universal skill to build, inherent to us all.

Monoambiente Consorcio

Monoambiente is an experimental cultural agency committed to the development of cultural projects architecture and contemporary design. By challenging and questioning established limits, the exhibitions, actions, and programs carried out under its auspices further the material and spatial language of both disciplines (architecture and design). It foments action and engagement as exploration and collaboration as support.

The intention is to make a contribution that operates on conceptual, material, and professional levels, encouraging engagement and dialogue between architects, designers, students, and the general public. The space is a milestone in the city’s cultural milieu as it engines the contemporary experiences and productions of both local and international designers.
